I've been interested in photography for many years but have mainly used point and shoot cameras.  In late 2011 I finally purchased my very first DSLR and now it's time to learn how to use it.

My Camera - Pentax K-r

I purchased a Pentax K r in Sept 2011.  I was excited for it to arrive.  Both of my daughters play indoor and outdoor soccer.  This camera has received RAVE reviews, especially for the price point for what you get.  It's known for great low-light preformance and fast focusing.  Also the 6 frames per second burst speed is awesome!  I was on the fence between getting the kit with the 200mm lens for $50 less thinking that I might prefer the smaller profile for carrying around but in the end, I didn't want to regret not having enough zoom in a pinch.  Below is the screen shot of the exact kit I purchased for $709 Sept 27th, 2011 from Amazon.

The only thing that I regret is not purchasing this sooner.  Our family loves the photos I'm taking with it.
